I wanna share a couple more quick thoughts before I close out 1st Kings Chapter 7.
So here’s what you gotta get hip to, homie.
Solomon’s creative vision of what a Temple was supposed to look like in 960 B.C. differed radically from what the Israelites envisioned in 800 B.C.
And the vision in 700 B.C. differed radically from what was imagined in 800 B.C.
And the vision in 600 B.C. differed radically from what was imagined in 700 B.C.
And the vision in 500 B.C. differed radically from what was imagined in 600 B.C.
Ya catching my drift here, homie?
But we ain’t done.
When Herod got around to building the Temple about 20 years after Yeshua’s birth, he also had a radically different vision.
And what about Ezekiel’s Millennial Temple?
That’s right.
He also had a different vision.
So there’s a lesson here.
If you’re fortunate to be alive when the next Temple is built on Mount Moriah, I wouldn’t be too attached to your personal vision of how you think it should end up looking.
Because there’s a good chance the final product will be far from what you imagined?

Look, in terms of the structural requirements of the Tabernacle, there are only two things that can’t be compromised.
There has to be the outer chamber called the Holy Place, or HEKAL in Hebrew.
And there has to be the innermost chamber known as the Holy of Holies or the KODESH HA-KODASHIM in Hebrew.
Other than these two chambers, there really ain’t any other strict structural requirements as far as I know.
It’s us humans with our big egos who get all bent outta shape over exactly how the Temple for the Lord should look like.
Remember what the Lord told David 3000 years ago.
He ain’t impressed with a bunch of fancy pants architecture dedicated to His Name.
The Lord is perfectly cool with a simple tent for his earthly dwelling place.
Ya feeling me here?
Alrighty, let’s switch over to the takeaway.
According to the prophets, the Temple of Solomon will be rebuilt on Mount Moriah before the final apocalypse overtakes mankind.
But the site of the Temple is now occupied by the Dome of the Rock.
So how then can this prophecy be fulfilled?
Well, chew on this for a sec.
Before 1948, only a handful of homies believed Israel would ever become a nation again.
And the idea that the Jews would return to the Old City in Jerusalem was considered preposterous beyond the pale.
Yet, as history has shown us, the prophecies in Scripture have a remarkable way of coming true.
So who can say that the Temple won’t be rebuilt?
However, we’ve gotta another problem.
According to Jewish law, it’s forbidden to desecrate any place of religious worship
So if the Jews can’t touch the mosque, who can?
Some hazard the Arabs might decide to move it elsewhere.
I highly doubt the Muslim world would agree to that, however.
But there is such a thing as an “earthquake!”
Either way, if you believe the prophets, that mosque is gonna move.
And Solomon’s Temple will be restored at Mount Moriah.
