Alrighty, homeroos, there’s something interesting I wanna show you.
It all has to do with the following statement.
“Over all of these was one administrator in the land”.
Cryptic as all hell, isn’t it?
Well, here’s the thing, and this is something you probably didn’t realize unless you’re a genius in Biblical archaeology
Out of all of the 12 taxation districts we’ve spent the last couple of days looking at, there is not one single mention of a city or town that is in Judah.
Ain’t that peculiar?
Let me explain by adding this factual footnote.
Two mega-famous Jewish scholars named Rainey and Notley say this particular sentence should actually be rendered as….
“Over all of these was one administrator in Judah.”
From their perspective, “the land” or HA-ERETZ can only be referring to Judah.
If that’s not the case, then the territory of Judah is completely left off the list.
But that doesn’t make any sense for such a prominent tribe.
So what gives?
Well, what we can ascertain from all of this is that Judah was viewed differently from the northern tribal territories when it came to taxation under Solomon.
And Solomon was from the tribe of Judah.
See what I’m getting at, homie?
I think you can understand why a tribe wanted one of its own members to become the king.
There were obvious juicy benefits to be had if one of your own came to power.
I’m telling you, politics hasn’t changed since time immemorial.
But that’s not the main takeaway.
The lesson here is when you are grafted into the commonwealth of Israel through your faith in the Jewish Messiah…
You gain access to certain benefits that the unbeliever cannot avail themselves of.
I’m not just talking about spiritual benefits or the hope for heaven after death.
I’m talking about access to supernatural energy and healing power right here on earth because you have direct access to the Father in the name of Yeshua.
And ain’t it interesting that just like Solomon, Yeshua also hailed from Judah?
I’m telling you there are certain benefits to be had from having a personal relationship with God’s one and only son.
Ya feeling me here?
So rejoice that through your faith, you are now part of the tribe of Judah.
Done.
