“She arrived in Yerushalayim accompanied by a very great retinue, including camels bearing spices and gold in great abundance, and precious stones. When she appeared before Shlomo she spoke with him about everything on her heart, and Shlomo answered all her questions; nothing was hidden from the king that he could not explain to her.” – 1 Kings 10:2-3
Imagine if you had the chance to speak with a being of infinite wisdom whom you could ask anything?
What questions would you ask?
Well, verse 3 tells us that was precisely the opportunity the Queen of Saba was given.
We’re told she asked Solomon everything that was on her heart.
I imagine the range of questions she peppered him with was quite far-reaching and covered both personal and practical matters.
The Queen was not only blown away by the wisdom of Solomon’s answers…
She was amazed at just how efficiently his kingdom operated.
Everything appeared to operate like a Tokyo subway system.
In other words, orderly and on time.
And the staff was as efficient as a top-tier hotel concierge team handling a hundred guests at once.
The variety of imported delicacies she was served also blew her away.
She had never before encountered such operational perfection in a society or government.
So what takeaway can we extract from this?
Rather than a takeaway.
I wanna go back to the thought I expressed at the beginning of this post.
If you were granted an audience with somebody who possessed perfect and infinite wisdom, what questions would you ask?
Well, if you think about it, I guess what I’m really asking is…
If you were invited to a Q&A session with God Himself, what would you ask Him?
As for me, here are some things that come to mind?
How come my life has turned out the way it has (referring to my debts and other personal failures I don’t wanna get into right now)?
Why, despite my best efforts, wasn’t I able to conquer my sex addiction?
Is Yeshua really God or not?
Is the Law of Attraction, the idea that you can manifest whatever you want simply by changing your thoughts, true or just a bunch of cow dung?
Is sex before marriage really a sin?
Is watching porn really a sin?
Is common prostitution really a sin or not?
What can I do to get filthy rich?
Those are just some of the questions I would love to get answered in detail, with proof and easy-to-understand explanations.
But I’d really like to hear from you.
Imagine you were the Queen of Saba and you had the chance to meet the wisest king who ever lived; what would you ask him?
I’d love to hear what you come up with.
I believe the questions deep down inside that you really want to ask is what you should take to the Lord in prayer.
Alrighty, I’ll leave it at that for today.
See ya all next time.
