“However, if he hits him with an iron implement and thus causes his death, he is a murderer; the murderer must be put to death. Or if he hits him with a stone in his hand big enough to kill someone, and he dies, he is a murderer; the murderer must be put to death.”-Numbers 35:16-17
From Numbers 35:16, we are given laws dealing with “man slaughter“ and an explanation of what instances are to be considered outright homicide or not.
What we’re going to find is that one’s INTENT plays a key role when making a proper judgement call.
In order to be clear on what God considers murder versus unintentional killing versus justifiable killing, we are provided a series of examples.
The first example deals with the instrument that was used in the killing.
Was the instrument or tool used actually a weapon that was designed for killing human beings?
In other words, was it a spear, a sword, a bow and arrow or some other battle weapon?
If so, then in general, the killing is to be judged as murder.
If the implement used was NOT a weapon designed to kill humans, then other factors need to be taken into consideration.
However, even if the tool used in the killing was not a weapon per se but was still something that if used improperly could become a weapon AND…
…if an examination of what happened reveals that the tool in question was used WITH THE INTENTION to hurt another person, then the Lord will decree that the act was murder and in that case the murderer will be put to death.
This idea…that a murderer should be put to death is something that has been harshly criticized all around the world.
The two common (and I think retarded) arguments usually given are as follows:
-It is murder itself to put a murderer to death!
…and…
-What good is it to execute the murderer when killing the murderer won’t bring the person he murdered back to life again?
What I find interesting but I guess I shouldn’t be surprised because they totally ignore the Torah anyway is that a huge portion of the church holds to the view that it is a sin to as they say “murder” the murderer.
In fact, some churches will go so far to as to say “Jesus overturned this command“.
How somebody who was probably the most Torah-observant human being on the planet just overturned some Torah command is beyond me.
But who cares what churches with practically zero foundational Scriptural understanding think.
Let’s see what the Bible says.
The Torah is clear on the matter.
God says the murderer is to be PUT TO DEATH.
Period.
No go to jail.
No ridiculous rehabilitation training.
And no weird loophole exceptions.
If one takes life unlawfully, that person must forfeit his life.
Here are the Torah’s counterarguments in answer to those liberals who say it is a cruel thing and actually murder itself to put a murderer to death.
-Human life is invaluable and the only just atonement for the unjust ending of a person’s life is for the murderer to pay for his crime with his own life.
-When innocent blood is spilled, it defiles the land causing it to become UNCLEAN. Since it is only the blood of the murderer that can serve as a just atonement and cleanse the land from its defilement, the murderer MUST BE PUT TO DEATH.
-Putting a murderer to death actually serves to save lives because the person who commits murder is probably going to do it again as he has already demonstrated that violence is in his nature. And putting the murderer to death will also save money. Why should our tax dollars be spent on housing a bunch of murderers in prison until they die an undeserved natural death?
Understand that the above three counterarguments are NOT barbaric, based on backwards thinking or ancient superstition or something that Yeshua overturned.
I’m talking about eternal Torah principles that are clearly spelled out in our Bibles.
The conclusion of the matter is clear.
To NOT execute a murderer for his crime to to against the Word of God!
I’m done.
