We’re in the midst of studying the travelogue presented to us in Numbers 33.
Because of so much uncertainty concerning these 42 locations, there are a ton of bogus maps out there that purport to outline the real route the Israelites traveled in the wilderness after their exodus from Egypt.
Do you wanna know one of the biggest reasons why most of these maps are just pure bogus and should be tossed into the nearest trashcan?
Well, I’ll tell you.
The vast majority of these maps show the Israelites wandering around the traditional Christian location of Mount Sinai towards the southern end of the Sinai Peninsula.
In previous posts when we were in Exodus, I’ve already gone into insane detail on why the traditional Christian understanding of the location of the Hebrews’ wanderings are a pure farce.
To further buttress my point, here are five more reasons to consider:
-the Bible already tells us that the real Mount Sinai is in Arabia, located in an area that used to be ruled by Midian
-The notable ancient historians Philo and Josephus also say the location is in Arabia and gosh darnit man they ought to know about this a heck of a lot better than the rest of us
-A ton of artifacts have been found in the former territory of Midian (on the southwestern Arabian Peninsula) that matches perfectly the Hebrew culture, time period and geographical characteristics of Mount Sinai as described in the Bible
-There is a ton of local Arabian folklore that also matches the culture, era and geographical characteristics of Sinai as described in the Bible
-There is noooooooooooooo way in Heckaville the Sinai could have supported a population of 3000 people let alone 3 million Israelites
So what’s the conclusion?
There ain’t a shred of archaeological evidence in existence that would support an Exodus route that follows the traditional gentile Christian understanding of it.
It is precisely because of this stubborn stance long held by Christian scholars that so many secular and liberal Christian scholars doubt that the Exodus even occurred.
And no doubt, it’s because they’ve been looking for artifacts of the Exodus in the WRONG LOCATION!
I’m done.
