“Adonai turned to him and said, ‘Go in this strength of yours and save Israel from the hands of Midyan. Haven’t I sent you?’”-Judges 6:14
In verse 14, we’re told the Angel of the Lord turned to Gideon and told him he was the chosen one to go and save Israel.
But the original Hebrew says YAHWEH turned to Gideon.
Okay, so I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again.
What we have right here is Scriptural evidence debunking the doctrine of the trinity.
Hardcore trinitarians will absolutely insist that any and every physical appearance of God in the OT has to be some pre-incarnate Christ, no exceptions.
But what they fail to realize is that nowhere is the son ever called by the Father’s personal name YHVH.
YHVH is the Father and the one and only true God.
Period.
Man, I feel like I gotta say this again.
So I will.
In the Bible (both the Hebrew Bible and the New Testament), nowhere is the Father identified as anyone but YAHWEH.
Burn that last sentence into the deepest recesses of your cranium.
Because it will save you from a lot of theological grief in the future.
Outside of certain titles like ABBA or EL SHADDAI, the Father is given no other formal name but YHVH.
If that’s the case, then this Angel of the Lord that Gideon is speaking to CANNOT be some pre-incarnate Christ.
Got it?
In the Scriptures, the Father is always invisible and a spirit.
Therefore, this Angel of the Lord who goes by the name of YHVH falls OUTSIDE of the trinitarian view.
Why?
Because it’s not the Holy Spirit.
It’s not the son.
And it’s definitely not your run-of-mill angel.
This manifestation simply doesn’t fit into some manmade trinitarian box that tries to make the nature of God conform to our limited understanding of a being who quite frankly lies way outside our ability to comprehend.

My question is still why? Why is it not the Son. How could you possibly say that with any kind of assurance? If you go to 16, it says the Lord said to him, Surely I will go be with you, OK, let’s back up here and go back to 11 where it says that the angel of the Lord came and sat. It is not saying that the Lord came and sat there but one of His angel’s. In 12 he said that the Lord was with you. Now in 13 Gideon sounds like he is talking to the angel because he says, O my lord, if the Lord is with us, why? In 14 it says the Lord turned to him and said. I never mentions the fact that Gideon sees the Lord but he obviously saw the Lords angel. So how do you know what sprit is being referred to here that you can distinguish between them.I am not trying to give you a hard time. I just don’t agree with you!

The name is YHVH is never applied to the son.
JKC says
Yes it is applied to the Son,Jesus is actually the Name itself.
Abraham says
Then the Father (YAHWEH ) came to Gideon n a human form. Right? Thanks

Do you see any connection/SIMILARITY between Judges 6:19-21 CJB and and Genesis 18:1-8 KJV?
Especially regarding capitalized words TREE, GOAT/CALF & BUSHEL (a bushel is ALOT! 144 cups or 52 loaves!)
And what about GOD & ADONAI being used here in Judges to seemingly represent the same being?
“Gid’on went in, cooked a young GOAT and made matzot from a BUSHEL of flour. He put meat in a basket and broth in a pot, brought them out to him under the pistachio TREE and presented them. The angel of ‘GOD’ said to him…Then the angel of ADONAI reached out with the stick…”
“1And the LORD (ADONAI) appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day; 2And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three MEN stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground, 3And said, My lord(s), if now I have found favour in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant: 4Let a little water, I pray you, be fetched, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the TREE: 5And I will fetch a morsel of BREAD, and comfort ye your hearts; after that ye shall pass on: for therefore are ye come to your servant. And they said, So do, as thou hast said. 6And Abraham hastened into the tent unto Sarah, and said, Make ready quickly THREE MEASURES (1.25 BUSHELS) of fine meal, knead it, and make cakes upon the hearth. 7And Abraham ran unto the herd, and fetcht a CALF tender and good, and gave it unto a young man; and he hasted to dress it. 8And he took butter, and milk, and the CALF which he had dressed, and set it before them; and he stood by them under the TREE, and they did eat.”
DIFFERENCES include Gid’on’s “offering” sounds like a covenant offering consumed by fire and Abraham’s hospitality/presentation to 3 men (…and they did eat.), ADONAI,?
I appreciate your thoughts on this and your continued sharing of wonderful truths and mysteries of the Word.

How Dev, Yes,I absolutely do see a similarity between Judges 6:19-21 CJB and and Genesis 18:1-8 KJV. This is another human manifestation of God that is NOT some pre-incarnate Christ in my opinion. Haven’t really studied the connections between tree, goat/calf and bushel.
