“When that entire generation had been gathered to their ancestors, another generation arose that knew neither Adonai nor the work he had done for Israel.”-Judges 2:10
I’ve been talking about how Israel fell from grace and into idolatry within only one generation.
I’ve also made it clear that we shouldn’t judge them because the truth is our country (the USA) has reached levels of both idolatry and perversity that are downright shocking.
Let me give you a perfect and recent example of what I mean.
My boss and the president of the company I’m working at here in Tokyo recently flew back to the states (specifically San Francisco) to be with his family for the yearend holidays.
He’s in his seventies and in addition to sons and daughters, he also has a couple of grandchildren.
Well, the other day one of his grandsons was whining about something.
My boss told him to stop whining because it’s not manly.
And in response, here’s what his daughter said.
“No, no, no dad. That’s not right. We don’t say that anymore here in the US. You’re not allowed to say if something is manly or not. Or make a distinction between boy things or girl things“.
When I heard that, I couldn’t help thinking to myself boy things sure have changed since I was a kid and not in a good way.
But that’s not the end of it.
Apparently, there’s another kid in my boss’s grandson’s kindergarten who although biologically a boy wears dresses and skirts to school because he wants to be a girl.
Well, the other kids were making fun of him.
And my boss’s grandson went up to them, shook his finger at them and said…
…“No. We don’t say that. There’s no boy thing. There’s no girl thing”.
Apparently, that’s the ungodly and absolutely insane direction America has headed, especially in San Francisco.
My boss finished off with one more shocking story.
His daughter has a friend who has an 8 year old boy.
But I shouldn’t use the word boy because apart from having certain parts removed, this “boy” has completely transformed himself into a girl.
He wears dresses, has the long hair, and even changed his name.
The whole bit.
I sat listening to my boss share this story and to be honest with you, I was just shocked.
What ever happened to the America I knew?
The America that respected the nuclear family and upheld healthy and Biblical distinctions between what a man is and what a woman is.
I couldn’t help thinking to myself I sure hope Messiah comes back soon because things have gone absolutely nuts.
Even churches today don’t bat an eye when it comes to performing same sex marriages and holding inter-worship services with people who do not worship the God of Israel.
Talk about a generation gap between my boss’s generation and his children’s generation.
And that’s my point.
If you’re a baby boomer, I think it would be much easier for you to identify with the situation being described here in Judges Chapter 2.
Within an astonishingly short period of time, after the Israelites entered the land, God’s instructions and commands were viewed as “old” news, something for a bygone era.
Boy, doesn’t that sound familiar?
I tell you folks, judgement is just around the corner, if it hasn’t begun already.
