“Manoach said to his wife,
‘We will surely die,
because we have seen God!'”
-Judges 13:22
Following on the heels of yesterday’s post, Manoach places the OLAH (Near Offering) and MINCHAH (Grain Offering) on top of the rock where he had started a fire and goes through some kind quick ritual as the flames begin consuming the offerings.
And then it happened.
Suddenly the man standing in front of them jumped into the flames that were shooting up towards the sky and vanished into thin air.
Well, if Manoach and his wife had any doubts they were dealing with the supernatural, they were instantly dispelled at that moment.
It finally dawned on them.
They weren’t dealing with a man.
And they weren’t dealing with an angel sent by God.
They had just experienced a DIRECT encounter with the Almighty God Himself.
We know this being was God because verse 22 says so.
There ain’t no need for debate here folks.
The Angel of the Lord is one specific manifestation of God.
And I know Trinitarians start losing their minds when I say this…
But this particular manifestation of God utterly destroys your Trinitarian theology.
Why?
For one simple reason…
There’s nothing…
And I mean absolutely NOTHING in the Bible…
Whether we’re talking about the “Old” Testament or New Testament that makes the Angel of the Lord out to be some kind of freaky “pre-incarnate Christ”.
The only reason the trinity idea took hold was because of the idea that God can manifest Himself in only 3 ways.
They use verses like this to support their theology:
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father and
of the Son and of the Holy Spirit”
-Matthew 28:19
The result of this myopic interpretation is that we limit God and say He can only manifest Himself in 3 and only 3 ways.
Sorry folks, you can’t force fit God into a box like that.
He can and has manifested Himself in many other ways than the “Father, Son and Holy Spirit” model that Trinitarians promote.
The appearance of the Angel of the Lord is a perfect case in point.
