I hope you guys are beginning to see the parallels between the state of Israel as she existed in Judges Chapter 1 and the state of believers today.
Bottomline, not one of the tribes properly fulfilled God’s commands to completely drive out the Canaanites from their individual territories.
Of course, some tribes succeeded more than others.
The more victorious tribes were able to take over additional cities and the land surrounding them while other tribes weren’t able to gain even one millimeter.
Again, isn’t this a perfect parallel to our lives as believers?
Every day for us is a fight against sin and the evil one.
Some days we’ll have great victories and be on cloud 9.
Other days we’ll fall flat on our faces and go running home to mama licking our wounds.
And just like some of the tribes were more determined and dedicated than the others, so it is with us believers.
When temptation arises, some of us will fight the good fight while others won’t even try and let sin and darkness take over their lives.
However, at the end of the day, not one of us will be able to stand before a perfect and holy God and say with 100% certainty that we perfectly executed the Lord’s Will for our lives.
And you know what else is interesting if you think about it?
The victories of both Yehoshua’s are still incomplete.
The Yehoshua of Moses’ time didn’t completely drive out the Canaanites like they were supposed to.
And Yeshua the Messiah, as of this writing, only accomplished half of his mission.
Yet, both of their incomplete victories will finally reach their full culmination at the battle of Armageddon.
It’s not until the conclusion of this war to end all wars that all evil and sin on this planet shall finally be put to an end.
