There are two important things you have to remember as we move through the Tanach.
1st Thing:
No new laws will be added to what has been established in God’s Holy Torah.
2nd Thing:
No laws that have been previously established would be done away with.
Got it?
Not even angels or some other divine spirit beings were given the authority to modify or abolish the Law.
To add to that, even the greatest and the most revered of Biblical prophets such as Samuel, Isaiah, Zechariah and Daniel NEVER brought forth new laws nor did they ever declare established laws as now null and void.
In fact, everything they preached to Israel was quite the opposite.
In diametric opposition to what the lawless gentile church preaches and teaches, the true Biblical prophets exhorted Israel to take great care in meticulously obeying Hashem’s long-established laws and…
…more often than not, their divine instructions were accompanied with dire warnings of what would happen to Israel if they chose the path of disobedience to the Lord’s commands.
After Moses, who was the first Mediator of Hashem, passed away, it would be a good 1300 years before the next Mediator, the Messiah Yeshua would arrive on the scene.
Therefore, we can rest assured that at least until the closing verses of the Book of Ezra, God NEVER authorized some kind of change in His Law.
So this leads us to the next question?
What about the so-called ushering in of the New Covenant as brought about by Messiah Yeshua?
Did the Messiah take it upon himself to add new laws or do away with old ones?
Let’s let him answer in his own words.
And before you read these verses, keep in mind that just as Moses acted in accordance with the Father’s will, Yeshua also made it clear that what he taught and preached was only what the Father had given him.
So here’s what he said concerning the idea of adding or subtracting laws that Moses had established on behalf of God.
“Don’t think that I have come to abolish the Torah or the Prophets. I have come not to abolish but to complete. Yes indeed! I tell you that until heaven and earth pass away, not so much as a yud or a stroke will pass from the Torah- not until everything that must happen has happened. So whoever disobeys the least of these mitzvot and teaches others to do so will be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But whoever obeys them and so teaches will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven.”-Matthew 5:17-19
Well, there you go.
No matter how you slice this theological tomato, it is clear the Messiah never came to abolish the Law.
Quite the opposite actually.
He came to obey them to their fullest extent and impart that divine understanding to all who would have ears to listen.
Of course, Christians will interpret the words “complete” or “fulfill” as meaning that Yeshua did away with the Law not knowing they are in direct opposition to EVERYTHING the Bible has to say on the topic.
I’ll let Hashem deal with them in His own good time.
Any Messiah who preaches against God’s Law or make himself out to be God himself is a false messiah.
He is the anti-Christ.
Heck, it even says so in the Book of Thessalonians.
“Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God.”-2 Thessalonians 2:3-4
Who is the one the church says has done away with God’s Laws?
And who is the one the church says is literally God Himself in human flesh?
Is it not this deity called “Jesus” that the church of Rome worships?
Yes, Yeshua is coming back to establish Torah Law over the whole planet.
But this Yeshua is NOT the Jesus of the Roman church.
We’re talking about two totally different beings here folks.
Let him or her who has been given understanding on this matter, walk in the truth and share it with those who have hearts open to receive.
Bryan says
Isn’t Yeshua a manifestation of Elohim, but not the Father? Sort of like the Angel of YHWH?
Only YHWH rides the clouds right?
Damian Hons says
John 14:15 “if you love me obey my commandments” Now, in Matthew 5:17, Yeshua gives a literal command: “DO NOT THINK…” which Christianity has happily disobeyed, focusing instead their silly debates on the word “fulfill”.
Regarding Christianity’s disposition on “Christ’s deification”, you’d think they could at least obey this one tiny command but nope, narrative over truth.
