Here’s the truth about what the Scriptures REALLY SAY about the Law and Yeshua’s sacrifice.
They are BOTH acts of the Lord’s grace.
Got it?
Not one or the other.
Why is the Law grace?
Well, think about it man.
The Law is literally heavenly truth that God has revealed to man so that we can live a life pleasing to our Creator.
The Law informs us what pleases and displeases our God.
It teaches us how to live a life AFTER we are saved.
If that’s not grace, I don’t know what is.
Onward.
Why is Yeshua’s sacrifice grace?
Because as Rabbi Shaul (aka the Apostle Paul) put it…
“For there is one God and
one mediator between God
and mankind,
the man Messiah Yeshua,”
-1 Timothy 2:5
Yeshua as our mediating High Priest atones for us and as our advocate brings us to a state of perfection not otherwise possible that allows us access to the very presence of Hashem for all eternity.
We couldn’t have a better Rabbi in our corner who pleads our case in spite of all our failings.
So let’s get this straight.
You ain’t saved by the grace of the Law.
And you are NOT living a life pleasing to God just because you walked down the aisle at some Billy Graham event a long time ago.
We’re talking about two different things here man.
Let me say that again.
Being saved and living saved are two different things.
The GRACE of the Law and…
…the GRACE of Yeshua’s sacrifice…
…are BOTH necessary.
Yeshua and only Yeshua saves us and…
…the Law of God and ONLY the Law of God reveals…
…to us what a righteous life that is pleasing …
…to our Creator looks like.
And again for like the 20 billionth time, you can see the gospel message imprinted in the Torah.
FIRST, God saved Israel by His Grace.
SECOND, they were given the Law.
Not the reverse.
God didn’t give Israel the Law first and then tell them “Obey my Torah and then I’ll consider whether you’re worthy of Me saving you”.
The same principle applies to all men and women today.
We are NOT saved by the Law (because it was never intended for salvation).
FIRST, we are saved by trusting in the shed blood of Yeshua.
THEN AFTERWARDS, we are expected to live a life pleasing to Hashem as defined by His Commandments (aka the Law).
Got it homies?
Is this clear?
Can you see how weird it is for Christians to say “Hallelujah, I’ve been saved by the blood of Christ” and then go on with their Sabbath-breaking and pork-eating lifestyle while claiming allegiance to the Jewish Messiah who also happened to be the most Torah-observant human being on the planet.
Talk about hypocrisy and contradiction of gargantuan proportions.
One final point and then I’m outta here.
The Law is NOT for the unbelieving gentile world.
It is only for the born-again believer who has the Holy Spirit of God residing in him or her.
Because minus the Spirit of the Lord governing the believer’s life, proper Torah observance just ain’t possible.
That’s right.
No man of His own strength can carry out the holy commands of the Lord in the proper spirit without the Spirit (super pun intended).
He needs the Holy Spirit of God to give Him supernatural strength to do so.
This makes perfect sense because our Creator desires a personal relationship with us.
He doesn’t want us to just perform the commands in some superficial mechanical fashion out of legalistic obligation.
I’m done.
