Yesterday when I talked about how 99% of all pastors, preachers and teachers in the world know nothing about the Law of Herem, admittedly it’s not like I conducted a study of every gentile congregation leader in the world and then tallied up the numbers.
I used the term 99% as a form of hyperbolic expression because honestly in my whole life up to now, I have yet to meet a Christian pastor or Bible teacher anywhere who really understands the Law of Herem.
Or forgot about understanding it.
Most of them have no idea this principle even exists.
Your Torah knowledge would have to be deep…I mean REALLY DEEP to get it.
In most wars, all the members of the defeated population were usually added to the conqueror’s army as slaves and servants.
But in a Holy War, since God Himself is the Commander-in-Chief and there really isn’t a way for a spiritual being to receive the spoils of war, they had to be destroyed…usually by burning them up.
Having said that, sometimes the Lord’s priests, since they were Hashem’s representatives on this planet, did on super rare occasions receive some of the spoils of war if God specifically said it was okay.
But as far as I can tell, in like 99.9% of the cases, neither the priests nor the common citizens of Israel were to receive the spoils following the battle.
CONCLUSION: the citizens of Jericho were NOT going to become the slaves or servants of Israel.
They were gonna be destroyed.
Period.
Every man, woman, and child.
Why?
Because as I keep telling you man, this was Holy War!
It also goes to show just how Holy the Land of Canaan (now Israel) is.
Heck, there’s a reason why Israel is called the Holy Land even though most people really have no idea what means.
Now you may be thinking, and I actually had this thought myself, wasn’t sparing Rahab and her family a blatant violation of the Law of Herem?
I mean isn’t it interesting that the spies felt that they had the authority to spare Rahab and her family?
This brings us to a major theological shift of gargantuan proportions here.
TO DECLARE ONE’S FAITH AND ALLEGIANCE TO THE GOD OF ISRAEL IS TO BE SAVED REGARDLESS OF YOUR ETHNIC BACKGROUND!!!
That’s right homies.
As soon as Rahab and her family declared their trust in Israel’s God, on some level the spies understood that Rahab and her family were not really gentiles or enemies of God anymore.
Of course Rahab and her family weren’t all of a sudden viewed as ethnic Hebrews but on some level they were no longer considered Canaanites,
The spies realized in some mysterious or spiritual sense, they were now more Israelite than what they were prior to coming to faith.
And wouldn’t you know it, we actually see this same “born again” idea emerge with the stories of Ruth and Naomi.
However, the Hebrew spies weren’t exactly 100% comfortable with the idea of sparing Rahab and her family.
That’s why they really grilled Rahab and made it clear there were certain conditions she had to obey or else.
Yet the 2 spies knew on some level that because of Rahab’s confession of trust and allegiance to their God, something had fundamentally changed and they knew they would be in the wrong had they continued to view her as an enemy of God.
Is the significance of this getting through to you?
Rahab and her family were bona fide gentiles.
Yet they shifted their faith over to the God of Israel.
They had just converted or had just “walked down the aisle” so to speak.
This is a demonstration of EXACTLY what we’ll see fleshed out in the gospel presentation contained in the New Testament.
Isn’t it plain as day that the Gospel ain’t some New Testament invention that came with the advent of Yeshua?
Heck no!
The gospel is an “Old” Testament promise and it has everything to do with being grafted into the people of Israel.
See you all next time.

Hello Richoka,
hope you are doing very great.
A few days ago I did not receive any post from you and nearly sent you a prompt. Thanks to God that you are back now on the portal.
Permit me to speak into the previous post on the issue of the knowledge of herem by 99% of Christian pastors
I believe herem and cherem in the Hebrew language may be synonyms then. The knowledge of the language and certain expressions in Hebrew may not be known broadly by non Hebrew speaking teachers and pastors. However, a good number of those who study and apply the Torah very seriously, understands the underlining principles like charam or cherem and herem: to mean things that are banned, forbidden, holy or unholy and kept aside for destruction. Most are familiar with the practice without necessarily knowing the name or exact term.
I lived in a moslem community before, and they also speak of haram. Haram in Arabic means forbidden
Contrary, Leviticus 27;28 is also talking about things to set aside as being holy to God. Herem is ban for destruction because God is protecting Israel from pollution or being contaminated
I take your teachings very seriously, but I questioned the veracity of your scoring system that yielded 99%
You made yourself clearer, however, in the aftermath that since no one ever mentioned herem in your life, the 1% is probably saved by the source you now understands it, or else your score could be 100% or plus. The fact that you said 99% was not scientifically, is ok. That is just your style and a way of expression, all right. Thanks good teacher
I love your teachings. In all these things, all who preach and teach holy scriptures are lawyers and judges in that regard. Comparing that to what happens in a worldly law system, the judgement usually favours those that have deep knowledge of the law and its proper application not necessarily defending the rights always..
Let me use this opportunity to sight an example, Our organisation had an issue with liquidity that landed us in a court just recently. The judge made a ruling but our lawyers disagreed with her and have go to an appeal court. Not once, sometimes when laws are repealed the judges may forget, but a good lawyer who is abreast with time will save the day. Deep knowledge of the word of God and the biblical terms and their rightful application etc is paramount even for this life and salvation at last.
Please remember me and my family in your prayers, especially, out of court.
Many thanks and God bless you
