The timing of today’s post is quite suitable considering the ever intensifying conflict taking place in the Promised Land right now as I write these words (Thursday, May 13th, 2021, 9:30am).
From a physical perspective, in Joshua’s day, the enemy Israel was fighting were the Canaanites who were to be utterly exterminated off the face of the planet because they were judged as wicked and beyond hope by the Creator.
However, from a spiritual perspective, the real enemy Israel was battling against was the dark prince ruling over the evil Canaanite population.
Let me explain.
If what’s happening today in Israel leads to Armageddon, there’s a couple of things we already know if we’ve read and properly understood our Bibles
FIRST, we know that it will be Yeshua (the exact same name as Joshua in the original Hebrew) who will be leading a Holy War against those who come against Israel.
SECOND, we know that this Holy War will not just be Israel against some minority Palestinian population, but the conflict will escalate to the point where it will be Israel fighting against all the evil gentile nations of the world who are going to come together to condemn and then attack the Holy Land.
Jerusalem is going to become that heavy burdensome stone that God is going to make very, very heavy to lift.
We can already see the stage being prepared for this to happen as mainstream media starts to level scathing condemnation towards Israel.
THIRD, we know that just as Satan was the spiritual prince ruling over Canaan, so too is he the spiritual prince of the entire world.
Let’s not forget that Satan possesses a legal right to this earth for a period of time.
That’s right homies.
It is God Himself who has legally turned this world over to Satan.
Consider these verses from the Book of Matthew.
“Once more, the Adversary took him up to the summit of a very high mountain, showed him all the kingdoms of the world in all their glory, and said to him, “All this I will give you if you will bow down and worship me “Away with you, Satan!” Yeshua told him, “For the Tanakh says ‘Worship Adonai your God, and serve only him.’”-Matthew 4:8-10
Yeshua never denied that Satan was the ruler of this world.
And the Lord had every right to do this, because as the Creator, He is the owner of all things.
For His own good reasons and purposes, God has made Satan the prince of this world.
Satan is NOT unlawfully occupying the world at this time.
But his time is limited.
The Devil is still a pawn in God’s hands being used to achieve His divine will in ways we cannot even begin to fathom at this time.
In closing, understand that the Lord has paved a way of escape for the precious few who seek for it and want it with all of their hearts, souls and minds.
This path is called “salvation” or Yeshua in Hebrew.
Understand however that this is a spiritual path.
At this point in time in our study of the Book of Joshua, Israel may have been saved but they still had to deal with the prince of this world (just as we have to as well).
That’s the only verse supporting your premise that Satan has legal right to the planet?? What about Yeshua stating that ALL authority in Heaven and EARTH had been turned over to HIM?
Sorry, just seems like a weak foundation for such a strong statement.
Hi Patrick, I don’t see a contradiction. All authority has indeed been given to God but per God’s sovereignty, He has given Satan the legal rights to this world. Otherwise, how do you explain all of the sin and chaos we see in the world? Also, consider the Apostle Paul also testifies to the fact that Satan is indeed the “God” and prince of this world. Shalom.
