“Jethro, Moses’ father-in-law, together with Moses’ sons and wife, came to him in the wilderness, where he was camped near the mountain of God.”-Exodus 18:5
Let’s talk about the location of the mountain of God mentioned here in verse 5.
I believe this one little verse is further evidence that Mount Sinai is actually located on the Arabian Peninsula as opposed to the Sinai Peninsula.
My reasoning is simple.
We are told that Jethro, Moses’ father-in-law, came out together with Moses’s sons and wife to meet Moses.
So Jethro’s home couldn’t have been no more than a few days journey from the Mountain of God where Moses and the people were currently encamped at.
First, this demonstrates that Jethro knew exactly where this mountain of God was located.
Jethro probably knew the mountain’s location because it is likely Moses showed it to him years earlier when YHVH appeared to him there from a burning bush.
Second, the fact that Jethro knew Moses and the people were currently staying at that location shows there must have been some correspondence between the two men.
So my whole point is this.
If Jethro’s home was only at most a few days journey from this “mountain of God”, then this “mountain of god” is located on the Arabian Peninsula.
How do I know this?
Because we are told that Jethro’s home is located in Midian and Midian is in the Arabian Peninsula!
Now I know some people will dispute this and say Midian was actually located on the Sinai Peninsula.
Hogwash to the twenty billionth degree!
I’ve already destroyed that argument and you can read my devastating refutation of it by clicking here.
Again, keep in mind that the mountain of God where Moses was leading the people is the same place where the Lord appeared to him out of the burning bush.
And recall that when the burning bush incident occurred Moses was living in Midian.
This also goes in line with the incident where God ordered Moses to strike the rock to get water for the people.
We were told it happened at the mountain range of Horeb, which is where Mount Sinai is located.
The burning bush, the rock being struck, all of these events occurred at the same place.
And incidentally the Apostle Paul also said the mountain of God was located in Arabia.
CONNECTING THIS TEACHING TO THE NEW TESTAMENT
“Now Hagar stands for Mount Sinai in Arabia
and corresponds to the present city of Jerusalem,
because she is in slavery with her children.”
-Galations 4:25

Dear Teacher,
But when we visited mount Sinai ,it was some where close to Egypt,if I remember correctly. So does that cover the part of Arabia Peninsula or ??? The whole area was absolutely rocky.
