Today we begin Deuteronomy Chapter Seven.

Concerning the Holy War Israel is about to wage on the Land of Canaan, there is one key and super foundational principle you’ve got to understand.
If you miss this point, I can pretty much guarantee the whole basis of how you understand the morality in the Bible will fall to pieces.
In fact, in extreme cases, if you don’t catch this point I’m about to tell you, you may end up walking away from the Bible and even reach the point where you’ll label it an evil book and may even end up becoming an atheist.
So what point am I talking about?
The point is this:
Israel is to conquer the land of Canaan with the full understanding that the God of Israel is NOT just the God of Israel but also the God of ALL history and humanity.
Do you know what this means?
It means that by definition every nation other than Israel worships false gods.
The gods of the gentiles don’t exist.
It is ONLY Israel and those who are grafted into Israel who honor the true Creator God, period.
Let’s dive deeper into this key principle.
FIRST, understand that just because God is the Creator or Author of everything does not mean every god worshipped by whatever other name or attribute is somehow indirectly honoring the true God of Israel.
SECOND, because the God of Israel is ultimately the God of everything and everyone, He possesses the sovereign right to kick the Canaanites out of their native territory and hand that land over to whomever He chooses.
Why?
Because it’s His land in the first place.
He can do with it whatever He wants.
Let’s explore that first point for a second because it serves as the basis for the BS notion the liberals love to propagate that it doesn’t really matter whether a person worships Allah, Krishna, or Buddha or whoever because although it may be indirectly, these people are really worshipping the same true God of Israel…even if they don’t know it.
I don’t know about you but this just about takes the cake when it comes to all the ridiculous nonsense I’ve ever heard of in my life.
The extent that people will go to for the sake of tolerance or peace at any cost…
…COMBINED with just plain old Scriptural ignorance just blows my mind
This doctrine is so far from God’s truth and what’s written in His Word that it’s practically impossible to fail to notice?
Let me ask you this?
When the Canaanites were sacrificing their babies to Baal, were they really indirectly worshipping YHWH, the God of Israel?
Or how about when the Amorites engaged in their ritual worship prostitution rites in honor of Ashtoreth (Easter in Anglo-Saxon), were they indirectly worshipping the God of Israel but just weren’t using the correct name?
Can you see how ridiculous such a doctrine is?
I’m done.
