Yesterday, I finished my post by saying that anything worth real value are only those things willed and accomplished by the Lord.
It is HASHEM who deserves all the credit, not us.
However, this does NOT mean we are to just sit on our butts and wait for good things to come our way.
This principle is so important.
Our lives are to be a COOPERATIVE EFFORT with God.
For instance, while it is true that God saved Noah and his family, Noah still had to expend much blood, sweat and tears in building the ark.
In the same way, although God had already assured the victory for Israel, they still had to fight to take the Promised Land.
Nowhere in Scripture are we told that all we have to do is just “believe” and blessings will automatically overtake us.
Action on our part is required and demanded by the Lord.
One important question we need to ask ourselves is how do we know the actions we are supposed to take are really a prompting from God or not…
…and how can we determine whether a given leader is from God or someone being driven by his own selfish agenda?
Well, we have to look no further than Moses as a prime example of a God-ordained leader.
This first leader of Israel not only personally sacrificed everything for the Hebrew people but he was also held accountable to the Lord!
Unlike a majority of the world’s leaders, Moses didn’t live under one set of rules and demand that those under him live under another.
The elders had to answer to Moses and the reverse was also true.
Moses was just as apt to be punished for rebelling against God as any one of the other anonymous three million common citizens of Israel.
Understand that this is the mark of a true and Godly leader.
The things that Moses demanded from the people were not done to elevate himself but were for the ultimate benefit of the whole group and the Kingdom of Heaven.
During his 40 years of leading Israel, Moses NEVER BENEFITED ECONOMICALLY OR PERSONALLY for his work and efforts.
These are just some of the things to think about when judging whether a given leader is of God or not.
