I decided to title my blog “Messianic Revolution“ for good reason.
Why do I say that?
Because there is indeed a revolution taking place among believers worldwide who proclaim Yeshua as their Lord and Savior.
What transformational shift am I talking about?
I’m talking about the many thousands of former churchgoers who now realize Yeshua meant what he said when He told us in no uncertain terms that he did NOT come to abolish the Torah or the Prophets.
God has opened their hearts and minds to the ENTIRE BODY of the Holy Scriptures and to the understanding that the chosen-ness of the Jewish people has not changed nor will it ever change.
I don’t know about you but I am still blown away by just how anti-Semitic the Christian church was and is.
The truth is the vast bulk of modern Christian doctrine is at its core anti-Semitic.
Think about it.
They teach that…Israel has been replaced by the gentile Church.
They teach that the Messiah did away with the Law.
And they promote the idea that to even open the books of the “Old” Testament is tantamount to spitting on God’s grace, discarding the savior and returning to the Law (whatever the heck that means).
And don’t even get me started on the idolatrous God-Man trinity doctrine.
Nowhere does the Scripture teach any of these heresies.
The truth is a modern Christian is told to accept various denominational doctrines without question…
…and then he or she is discouraged from studying anything but a few cherry-picked passages from the New Testament (mainly verses lifted out of context from the gospels).
How did all of this anti-Torah heresy begin?
To answer that question, late me share with you a direct quote from one of the most esteemed European church leaders of his time.
This will give you a good idea of what I’m talking about.
The name of the man whose quote I am about to share is Adolf Harnack.
He was a German Lutheran theologian and a prominent church historian who produced many religious publications from 1873 to 1914.
Here is one of those quotes that speaks directly to the point I am making in this article.
“To reject the Old Testament in the second century was a mistake the church rightly resisted; to retain it in the sixteenth century was a fate from which the Reformation could not escape; but still to preserve it (the OT) in the nineteenth century as one of the canonical documents of Protestantism is the result of religious and ecclesiastical paralysis.“
His position is pretty crystal clear, is it not?
He’s basically saying that the early messianic faith had no choice but to hold on to the “Old” Testament because there was no other Holy Scripture at the time (the New Testament had not yet come into being).
However, once the New Testament was canonized and came into being, then it was nothing less than “religious paralysis” to retain the “Old” Testament Scriptures.
That argument my friends was unfortunately well received and became the bedrock upon which the Western gentile church formed its theologies and doctrines.
Ever since that point in time, the Western gentile church has view the “Old” Testament as pretty much irrelevant to the faith walk of a modern believer.

Hi Richoka, that is very pathetic for the Church. Had it not been my father, I nearly suffered the effect of such theology during my teens. This is where good parents make the difference.
There is a lot of noise that inturupts the faith of many Christians concerning the use of the old testament. Surprisingly, I have come understand that, God deliberately gave us the old testament to enable us understand the new testament. It almost impossible for any one to understand the new testament well without first understanding the old testament.
I hear many preacher men say; the new testament is a fulfilment of the old testament. That is true in principle. However, the Holy Bible must be seen as one complete comprehensive and harmonious word of Hashem- God

Thank you for sharing Abraham.

You couldn’t be more wrong saying born again believing Christians; who accept Jesus Christ as Lord & Saviour, are anti-semitic.

Hi Ken, I wasn’t talking about born-again believing Christians. I was talking about modern Christian doctrine. There’s a difference. Thanks for reading and Shalom!

This replacement theology is old forgotten news. Your dredging up very old teachings when there wasn’t an Israel. The well-meaning Christian Theologians figured if there wasn’t an Israel then the promises and covenants of God must be for us, Christian Church.
After May 14, 1948 the “replacement theology” of the Church taking the place of Israel disappeared and the data you are espousing is old news and today untrue.
There is much love from the Christian Church toward Israel and the Jewish People with the rebirth of Israel and the understanding of the Word of God became clearer to us and the world.

That’s great Kevin. Now if the church could just get rid of the idolatrous “God-in-human-flesh” trinitarian doctrine, then we’d really be making progress.
