As we’ve studied the Torah together over the last few years, a profound principle has slowly but surely emerged.
What am I talking about?
I’m talking about how certain agents of the Lord operate in complete opposite ways simultaneously.
For example, take the agent of salt.
In a positive sense, salt can be utilized to season and preserve or seal a covenant.
In a negative sense, the very same salt can be used to poison or put an end to life when the terms of the covenant are violated.
Or how about blood?
Blood is most definitely an agent of God.
When it is spilled unjustly it is the source of murder and/or death.
However, when blood is spilled for an animal sacrifice, it serves to atone and brings life.
How about this very Torah we’re studying?
As an agent of God, the words of this Holy book can bring curses to those who go against it.
However, it will bring great blessings to those who obey it.
Angels also play this dual role since they can both rescue or destroy human beings.
And Scripture tells us we have good angels and fallen angels (otherwise known as demons).
And finally, how about Messiah?
At his first coming, he poured out his blood as a meek lamb who wouldn’t hurt a fly.
However, when he returns, he will be the most ferocious warrior the world has ever seen who at Hashem’s command will seek vengeance on those who have rebelled against God.
Rebecca Cardinal says
Most of churchianity doesn’t believe this. They have no idea what is coming…..
