In my last post, I highlighted the IF/THEN formula presented to us in Deuteronomy Chapter 30.
Again, this formula asserts the condition that Israel will be restored ONLY IF she repents…
…and…
…IF Israel does NOT repent, she will NOT be restored.
However, there was an incredible exception to this rule that occurred several centuries later in the Roman exile after Yeshua’s crucifixion.
Even though Deuteronomy 30 states that while in exile Israel would have to repent and return to the Lord before they could be restored, that is NOT what happened with the Jews of the Roman exile.
And it is from the Roman exile that the Tribe of Judah resurfaced from the ashes of WWII to form modern Israel in the year 1948.
I remind you of what Isaac Newton has made clear about Bible prophecy.
He said one should not use Bible prophecy as a crystal ball or divining rod to see into the future.
That’s how too many people with misguided zeal use the Bible and they shouldn’t.
Rather the purpose of holy prophecy is to confirm to the believer that the Lord’s prophetic word was indeed an order to the universe to make something happen.
Prophecy is evidence AFTER the fact that indeed a divine order that cannot be stopped or undone was fulfilled and that anyone who would dare to overturn a prophecy would be put to great shame.
On that note, I want us to next read one of the most prophetic sections of all Scripture.
I’m talking about Ezekiel 36.
This exciting chapter of prophecy actually concerns us today and lets us put Isaac Newton’s theory to the test that the purpose of prophecy is to confirm that God’s Word concerning the future has indeed been accomplished (after the fact).
We are actually eyewitnesses to what Ezekiel Chapter 36 talks about and this is something the many saints of old would have just died to witness.
Yet, ironically, since so many of us are overly focused on the end times and all of this Rapture and Tribulation nonsense, we’ve become blind to the astonishing fulfillment of prophecy that’s taking place right now before our very eyes.
So without any further ado, let’s read Ezekiel Chapter 36.
You can read it by clicking right here.
Did you read it?
Good.
This chapter is actually describing the return of the tribes of Israel from their Roman exile and also partly refers to the 10 Northern Tribes returning from their Assyrian Exile.
Hmmm…I didn’t quite say that right.
Let me rephrase that.
To be more accurate, this is describing the return of ALL 12 tribes of Israel to their ancient homeland.
An ancient homeland the world (thanks to the UN) insists on calling Palestine.
However, there is something incredibly different about this return from exile compared to all the other returns from exile.
What’s the difference?
Let’s read Ezekiel 36:22 to find out.
“‘Therefore say to the Israelites, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: It is not for your sake, people of Israel, that I am going to do these things, but for the sake of my holy name, which you have profaned among the nations where you have gone.”
Holy Hebrew national hot dogs and a side order of kosher chili beans!!!
This has absolutely nothing to do with the IF/THEN formula presented in Deuteronomy 30.
That’s right!
This has nothing to do with whether Israel repents or not.
Instead, the God of Israel says He’s going to bring His People back to the land…
…for the purpose of protecting His Holy Name.
To be continued…
