The story of Joseph foreshadows Yeshua’s life in so many different ways.
However, I wonder if it also provides clues concerning how the unbelieving majority in the modern state of Israel may eventually come to accept Yeshua.
Some of today’s patterns seem to give us some hints about how things may turn out.
PATTERN ONE:
-All who came to Joseph for bread lived and did not die.
-All who call upon Yeshua will be saved.
PATTERN TWO:
-Joseph’s brothers come to him in the midst of the famine.
-It is said that unbelieving Israel will come to Yeshua in the midst of the tribulation.
PATTERN THREE:
-Joseph’s brothers bow down to Joseph
-Yeshua’s brothers-the whole house of Israel will be saved and they will bow down to him.
PATTERN FOUR:
-Joseph’s brothers didn’t recognize Joseph
-Yeshua’s Jewish brothers didn’t recognize Yeshua as the Messiah and didn’t receive him.
PATTERN FIVE:
-Joseph’s brothers keep lying about Joseph’s death.
-Yeshua’s brothers, the Jews, kept lying about His death and resurrection.
PATTERN SIX:
-Reuben says “His blood is now required of us.”
-During Yeshua’s trial, the crowd said to Pilate “Let His blood be upon us.”
PATTERN SEVEN:
-Joseph wept over his brothers.
-Yeshua wept over Jerusalem.
