It is of tremendous importance that we CONTINUOUSLY REMIND OURSELVES of the great truths taught us in Scripture.
Knowledge not absorbed is knowledge not learned.
And knowledge not learned is knowledge that cannot be applied.
So consider this post to be an important reminder of the following truth which Yeshua uttered:
For if you really believed Moses,
you would believe me;
because it was about me that he wrote.
But if you don’t believe what he wrote,
how are you going to believe what I say?”
-John 5:46
With that in mind, I’d like to share five ways Joseph’s life foreshadows Yeshua in Genesis chapter 39.
PATTERN ONE:
-All things were committed to Joseph by his master.
-All things were committed to Yeshua by his Father in heaven.
PATTERN TWO:
-Joseph had his garments stripped from him.
-Yeshua also had his garments stripped from him before he was tortured.
PATTERN THREE:
-Joseph was falsely accused of a crime he didn’t commit.
-Yeshua was also falsely accused for blasphemy.
PATTERN FOUR:
-Joseph did NOT defend himself against the charges that were leveled against him.
-So to did Yeshua remain silent in front of His accusers.
PATTERN FIVE:
-Joseph was given favor in the sight of both God and man.
-So also was Yeshua as stated in Luke 2:52.
“And Yeshua grew both in wisdom and in stature,
gaining favor both with other people and with God.“
I’m gonna call that a wrap.
Shabbat Shalom everybody!
NEXT TIME WE BEGIN GENESIS CHAPTER 40
JoBeth says
Another similarity I noticed when reading is that:
-Joseph was tempted by a woman and refused to give in
-Yeshua was tempted by Satan and refused to give in
