I wanna share an interesting exercise I just did.
I copied and pasted the entire text of 2 Samuel 7 into ChatGTP and then asked it this question:
“How many times does the word “forever” appear in 2nd Samuel Chapter 7?”
This is the answer I got:
“The word ‘forever’ appears 7 times in 2 Samuel 7 based on the text you provided.”
Isn’t that interesting?
Coincidence?
Hardly.
Seven is the Biblical number of perfect completion.
It means nothing is missing or broken.
We should always pay close attention to Biblical numerology.
There is a hidden meaning behind the word “forever” popping up seven times in this chapter.
When God promised David that His dynasty would last forever…
He was telling him that it would be more than just a physical kingdom…
The Lord was pointing to something much bigger.
He was pointing to the Messiah to come.
David’s line wasn’t just about ruling Israel.
It was about bringing God’s PERFECT plan of redemption full circle.
Of course, this speaks of the Messiah.
Because he’s the key to everlasting life and true rest.
Oh, and one other thing.
Ain’t it interesting that this phenomenon of the word “forever” appearing 7 times occurs in Chapter 7 of 2nd Samuel.
You may be thinking that’s just a coincidence.
But remember, there are no coincidences in God’s Kingdom.
There’s not even a word for “coincidence” that exists in Biblical Hebrew.
