The big theme we see consistently playing out over and over again like a broken record in the Scriptures is the cycle of Israel going through apostasy to oppression to repentance to deliverance…and back to apostasy again.
What’s interesting is while in the midst of their apostasy stage, they were always in denial about it.
They never saw themselves as idolaters.
As far as they were concerned they had never renounced or stopped loving God.
They had just adopted questionable customs from their Canaanite neighbors into their society and worship practices in spite of repeated warnings from God that He found such behavior offensive.
Again, I remind you from a Biblical perspective, that an idolater can only be one who was once a member of God’s community.
Scripturally speaking, the Canaanites (or pagans) are not considered idolaters.
Now let me ask you this question.
In the cycle of apostasy to oppression to repentance to deliverance, which stage do you think the modern institutional gentile church is in right now?
Take a guess.
The answer shouldn’t be that difficult.
Okay, so if you said “apostasy”, you nailed it baby!
Which means the next stage the church is about to enter into is the oppression stage.
While I can’t say for sure this is the last cycle before Messiah returns…
Given that Israel has returned to her land (meaning the times of the gentiles are ending), I think this might be it homies.
Now if you disagree with me about the church being in the apostasy stage, I’d say you’ve gotta be blind or something when you look at the state of modern Christianity today.
Having said that, I know there are some gullible folks out there who are gonna deny this.
“Apostasy?!
What are you talking about homie?!
I don’t see any apostasy around me”.
And not realizing while they’re saying that there are congregations across the globe who worship Yeshua as G-d (such a tragic error) and countless gay marriages are being performed in countless churches across the United States with a super high concentration of them taking place in San Francisco.
Well homeroos, that attitude of denial was the way every Israelite thought until a wave of oppression from the enemy swung around strong and knocked them all on their proverbial butts.
That seems to be the stubborn way of human nature…
We’ll deny and defend our idolatry to the death until a major disaster strikes…
Then we’ll realize we’re being judged for our sins and repent…
But by then it’s too late to avoid the consequences of our actions.
Why are we believers so good at denying our sin when it’s plain as day we’re in the wrong when held up against the truth of the Scriptures?
Of course, there’s no one perfect answer to that question…
We all have our quirks and weird excuses we use to justify our ungodly behavior…
I remember one morning I was surfing the internet trying to find articles justifying why there ain’t nothing wrong with watching porno.
Why?
Simply because I wanted to watch porno later that day and wanted to find a way to do it without feeling guilty.
So while there is no one answer to the question of why we’re so adept at justifying our ungodly behavior, for sure, one good answer is the combination of false doctrines and error-riddled traditions that have been foisted upon the minds of believers everywhere.
These doctrines and traditions have so pushed out and replaced the purity and truth of God’s Word that I’d say it’s practically impossible to find a kosher congregation anywhere in the Christian world…
And that’s also why I think Hebrew Roots groups or Messianic Congregations who try to solidify their strength and further their mission by aligning with gentile and lawless Christian organizations and churches are idiots…
You don’t further God’s purposes by joining lawless organizations.

Me too. Somehow I’m glad I’m not the only one who has tried that little trick of denial 🙁
Appreciate your gut-level message, as always.

I believe it’s every man’s struggle.
Appreciate your vulnerability too Eric.
Be blessed and talk again soon!

How will God deal with the modern apostacy occurring within the modern state of Israel?
richoka says
Like He deals with all apostasy…
Judgement and then deliverance for those who repent.
