Here’s what you need to know about your emotions…
Emotions are valid and necessary…
And yes, God did create your emotions…
But in terms of your relationship with the Lord…
They are the LOWEST priority.
That’s right folks.
The least earthly expression of your love towards God are your emotions…
The next step up the totem pole is your decision to serve the Lord.
However, that’s still not the most important thing.
The highest earthly expression is ACTION…
To live out the word of God…with the help of the Holy Spirit.
And by the way, this has always been the biggest difference between Christianity and Judaism.
Judaism focuses on deeds…it’s what you do that’s most important.
While Christianity is all about creeds…it’s what you believe that’s most important.
So which is correct from a Scriptural perspective?
Of course, the former…
It’s what you do, not what you say, that’s important.
And that’s exactly what Samuel is talking about in chapter 7 when he told the people to throw away their false gods.
The problem is a lot of folks who call themselves followers of God really aren’t…
They would be more accurately categorized as “seekers” rather than committed believers.
They may have an emotional pull towards God…
But that’s where things end.
Because of inconvenience or social pressure, they will not cross over from passive intellectual acceptance to proactive obedience.
They won’t stop eating ham sandwiches or bacon cheese burgers…
They spend a good portion of their time drinking or doing drugs.
They won’t leave adulterous relationships…
They follow the “politically correct” narrative when it comes to homosexuality…
They continue to cheat or steal from people.
They worship money, wealth and power more than God…
And most importantly, they won’t dedicate any of their time and energy to learn God’s Word…
Which is why they’re so powerless to live a Godly lifestyle in the first place.
Ya feel me here?
CONNECTING THIS TEACHING TO THE NEW TESTAMENT
“What good is it, my brothers,
if someone claims to have faith
but has no actions to prove it?
Is such “faith” able to save him?
Suppose a brother or sister is
without clothes and daily food,
and someone says to him,
“Shalom! Keep warm and eat hearty!”
without giving him what he needs,
what good does it do?
Thus, faith by itself, unaccompanied
by actions, is dead.”
-James 2:14-17
“Anyone who does not
provide for their relatives,
and especially for
their own household,
has denied the faith
and is worse than
an unbeliever.”
-1 Timothy 5:8

When I was in Sales, one of the most important things I learned about people was this:
People don’t mean what they say, they mean what they do.
Christianity started to separate itself from its Jewish roots as early as the end of the First Century, and has made great progress, to the point where today Christianity has very little, if anything at all, to do with the way its alleged “founder”, Jesus Christ, lived.
Yeshua (Jesus’ real name) lived a Torah observant lifestyle, and taught to honor and obey his father (that would be God, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob), who told us what he wants us to do in the Torah.
Christianity is based not on God’s instructions about worship, treating each other, or even how to eat, but rather on what men have decided to do, misusing the letters of Shaul (Paul) as their foundation for a Torah-rejecting religion
Hey there: if Jesus is the Word in the flesh, how is it that with all their training, priests and ministers haven’t realized that if Yeshua is the living word, and the only word then was the Torah, by rejecting the Torah they are rejecting the one they say they follow?
