Besides spiritual nourishment, do you know what other area of life the Scriptures give us clarity in?
The answer is politics.
One principle in particular that is well fleshed out is the idea that “the enemy of my enemy is my friend”.
We see this political principle play out in 1 Samuel between the Amorites and the Philistines.
These two people groups were sworn enemies against each other who sought to conquer Canaan and much of the Middle East.
So when Israel defeated the Philistines, the Amorites found themselves in the awkward position of being on Israel’s side.
Plus since Israel no longer had to worry about being attacked by the Philistines, they were in a much stronger position to defend themselves against the Amorites if they ever decided to flex their military muscles.
And the Amorites knew it.
That’s why they decided to lay low for the time being.
So what’s the takeaway here?
One takeaway is obedience to God can lead to multiple blessings and multiple victories.
Because when Israel whipped the Philistines, it was like killing 2 birds with one stone.
They beat the Philistines…
And by default this victory also forced the Amorites to lay low.
This also reminds us of how Israel’s exodus from Egypt was well known by all the surrounding nations in the area.
The exodus put Israel on the map for all eternity.
So remember, nothing happens in the dark.
Whenever you experience a victory because of the Lord…
In some way, sharp, or form, that victory will impact and inspire others.
And that is the way it should be because Yeshua told us we should be a light unto the world.
CONNECTING THIS TEACHING TO THE NEW TESTAMENT
“Let your light so shine before men,
that they may see your good works,
and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
-Matthew 5:16

I think one of the greatest biblical statements about politics, specifically Shaul’s statement that we must respect and follow all in authority because God put them there (Romans 13), is one of the greatest challenges Americans face today.
Our country is spiraling down at an ever increasing rate, and as far as I am concerned, it is absolutely because God put these idiots in charge of us.
God uses people more often than anything as his means of punishing those who have sinned and failed to repent, and this country, the USA, has rejected God for decades and installed sinful creatures in places of authority.
Let me correct that- it has sinful creatures in places of authority because, as Shaul said, God placed them there.
The people in authority in America today, from the President, to the Houses of Congress, to the media moguls, to the Mayors of the cities, and all the way down from there- they are all destroying America, and that is why God put them there, because we deserve it!

As Solomon said, “There is nothing new under the sun”.
What you described happened in ancient Israel and is happening today.
Indeed, nothing changes.
