Let’s continue with our discussion about Israel’s current state of affairs during Saul’s reign…
And how conditions were far from ideal from a Torah perspective.
So the second major point that defined the times in this era is that the Philistines were still causing big trouble.
They were as active as ever and a constant thorn in Saul’s buttocks…
But it wasn’t just the Philistines…
Moab was threatening Israel as well.
They had captured some of the land in the Transjordan (territory east of the Jordan River) that Reuben and Gad had controlled.
Now I’ve said this before…
But it bears repeating…
If Israel had faithfully obeyed God’s commands to rid the land of the Canaanites when they first invaded the land…
We wouldn’t have a crisis in the Middle East today. ..
And October 7th wouldn’t have happened.
Ya feel me?
Whenever we disobey God out of some form of misplaced love…
Or out of political correctness…
It never ends well…
As evidenced by the pain, suffering, and war Israel is going through right now.
The same principle applies to our personal lives…
Obey God no matter the cost…
Because the cost will ultimately be much greater if you don’t.
Are you feeling me?
Over and out.
