The story of David and Goliath is about God’s chosen people warring against heathen gentiles.
But, that’s not the only battle contained in 1st Samuel.
There’s another major confrontation going on here.
Have any idea what it might be?
If you said “David versus Saul”, BINGO!
You hit the nail on the head.
That’s another key conflict we’d be remiss to overlook.
This is the war between God’s chosen king and the Anti-King.
That theme should sound familiar.
Right now, this other king, Saul, is sitting on the throne, even though he’s not supposed to.
And what are we told is gonna happen in the end times?
That’s right.
A dude whom the Bible calls the “Anti-Christ” is gonna emerge.
In the New Testament, we’re told…
“He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God.”-2 Thessalonians 2:4
So the conflict we see emerging between Saul and David is gonna repeat itself.
It will be God’s chosen son, the Messiah versus the one whom the New Testament describes as “the man of lawlessness“.
Think about that for a second.
He will be a man against God’s Law or Torah.
And ain’t it also interesting that this so-called Anti-Christ will be a false Messiah who will claim to be God Himself in human flesh?
Hmm…where have we heard that ridiculous teaching before?
Certainly NOT from the Scriptures (either “Old” or New Testament) I tell you.
Here’s something else interesting to chew on.
King Saul demonstrates a person who possesses an anti-Christ spirit is NOT limited to ethnic gentiles.
Ya feel me here?
So that’s something interesting to think about as things ramp up and we race toward the end times.
Who exactly is the future Anti-King gonna be?
And what is his ethnicity gonna be?
Would love to hear your thoughts on this.
