If you really wanna understand the war to end all wars that will take place at Armageddon, you really need to get Holy War protocol as it’s outlined in the Torah and the rest of the Hebrew Bible.
Why is this important?
Because Armageddon is the final conclusion of the Holy War against Amalek.
Or to put it another way…
Armageddon is the final war between those who are against God (uncircumcised Gentiles) and God’s Chosen.
Every Sunday at Christian churches around the world, you’ve got worshippers singing their hearts out about the great and terrible day of Jesus’s return and how everything that is not for the Lord will be burned up and destroyed.
Yet they have absolutely NO IDEA what they’re passionately singing about.
Why?
The answer is as simple as it is sad.
They possess little understanding of Holy War protocol as it’s outlined in the “Old” Testament.
And they possess even less understanding of the Law of Herem (the ban), which is the chief principle that governs Holy War.
In a true God-ordained Holy War, YHWH is the Commander-in-Chief.
This means none of the war booty can be awarded to the troops.
Everything is under HEREM or banned.
And when I say “everything”, I mean EVERYTHING.
All humans (whether men, women, or children), all livestock, and all material goods.
If it belongs to an enemy of God’s people, it is to be destroyed without fear, favor, or mercy.
Keep in mind, the Law of Herem isn’t about destruction just for the sake of it.
The Scriptures make it clear that destruction by fire IS the prescribed methodology for setting apart and turning the war booty over to the Lord.
Oh and by the way, this process has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with making sacrifices unto God…
That’s another huge misunderstanding a lot of folks make (and that I made too).
We’ll get into the details of that later.
Anyways, what we’re gonna discover is that Saul would’ve made a good Christian.
Unfortunately, that’s NOT a good thing.
The bottom line is that as sincere as he was Saul simply did not fully obey God’s Word.
In the war against Amalek, Saul did NOT destroy everything belonging to the enemy as he was ordered to.
He did not obey the Law of Herem, which again dictates complete and utter destruction of the enemy including women, children, and babies.
Saul used the same argument that many Christians use with their own contrived morality that isn’t rooted in the Scriptures.
Saul viewed his actions as good…
And that God’s way was a bit too cruel and outdated…
He probably thought to himself…
“Well, centuries have passed since the Law was first handed down through Moses at Sinai…
Surely in our day and age, God’s harsh Holy War protocols, and especially the Law of Herem don’t apply anymore, right?”
WRONG.
Saul committed the same error the church makes today.
He purposed in his own heart that he knew better than God and that he could set aside His Laws for a superior way more suited to the times.
This was a BIG mistake that we’re gonna see will cost him his throne.
Let me close by reminding you when Messiah returns on that great and terrible day Christians love to sing about during their worship services, he is going to prosecute the battle at Armageddon in FULL obedience to Holy War protocol.
This means in FULL accordance with the Law of Herem which dictates ALL the enemy must be completely and utterly destroyed.
Joshua and his men failed to do that when they first entered the Promised Land.
The Messiah will not make that same mistake.
That’s a guarantee.
CONNECTING THIS TEACHING TO THE NEW TESTAMENT
“Do not think that I have come
to abolish the Law or the Prophets;
I have not come to abolish them
but to fulfill them.”
-Matthew 5:17
