1S15-1: Saul’s War With Amalek Foretells Israel’s Final Battle At Armageddon

Today we begin 1st Samuel Chapter 15.

Chapter 14 concluded the story of the rise of Israel’s first king which didn’t go too well due to Saul’s many failures.

Now, in Chapter 15, we’re gonna see what happens when ruler a tries to govern God’s kingdom, but not according to His Torah.

It bears repeating, but it’s best to view Saul as the Biblical prototype for the Anti-King.

And not only that.

The war with Amalek in chapter 15 is an accurate shadow of the end-times war known as Armageddon.

I’m not saying every detail is gonna match up perfectly.

But the corresponding patterns and similarities will be quite mind-blowing, to say the least.

Again, I totally get there’s a fine line between interpreting things symbolically and willy-nilly saying an event in Scripture is a prophetic foreshadowing of what’s to come.

False Bible teachers and prophets have been doing this from time immemorial.

However, what I am saying with the greatest confidence is that this war Saul’s army will fight against Amalek establishes a Biblical pattern for Messiah’s future war at Har Meggido (Armageddon).

But there is one key DIFFERENCE.

Saul did NOT fight this battle with Amalek per God’s holy war protocols as outlined in the Torah…

But Messiah will at Armageddon.
