Let me remind you that while a lot of folks tend to think of the Messiah as a one-time event…
Understand the word Messiah or MASHIACH (מָשִׁיחַ) is a common Hebrew word that also refers to any person specially chosen by God to rescue Israel from her enemies.
So in this sense, Messiah can also mean “One who delivers” or “One who saves”.
Keep in mind every single Judge or Shophet of Israel was a “messiah” who was sent by God to deliver one Hebrew tribe or another from Gentile oppression.
Ya, feel me here?
So consider this when I refer to King Saul as a failed Messiah…
Even though he was chosen by God.
There will always be similarities among deliverers who God raises up even if some of them end up as failures.
That’s why there are amazing similarities between Saul and Yeshua’s life.
You can read about it in this article HERE.
The critical thing to keep in mind though is WHO is carrying out the pattern.
Saul became King due to the evil inclination of men who decided to rebel against God…
And God gave them what they wanted as punishment for their rebellion.
Yeshua’s rise however had nothing to do with men.
His coming was 100% due to the impulse of God…
And that’s why he was 100% victorious.
