Another mind-blowing truth bomb to share with you today…
Some of the OLDEST manuscripts of the “Old” Testament we have in our possession today are NOT in Hebrew…
That’s right man!
Let me explain.
There are currently two manuscripts of the Hebrew Bible in our possession.
The Greek Septuagint…
And the Masoretic texts.
The Masoretic texts are considered to be the oldest Hebrew Manuscripts we’ve got right now.
However, here’s the thing.
The Greek Septuagint was created before them sometime between 50 B.C. and 150 AD.
This was right around the time when Yeshua was walking the planet healing people and performing his head-turning miracles.
In comparison, the Masoretic texts were written around 1000 AD.
This means the oldest OT manuscripts we have in our possession happen to be in a newer language (the Greek) rather than God’s native tongue (Hebrew).
In fact there’s a whopping 1000 year difference between the two!
This also means whenever scholars study the books of Samuel and Kings and encounter differences between the Greek Septuagint and the Hebrew Masoretic texts…
And believe me, there ARE significant differences…
Which manuscript do you think they bow down to because they believe it’s more accurate?
If you said the Greek Septuagint, you nailed it homies!
And the reason why is simple.
It’s because they’re older and were created BEFORE the Hebrew Masoretic texts.
That’s why scholars, ESPECIALLY gentile scholars, lend more credence to the Greek rather than the Hebrew in this case!
“OUTRAGEOUS!!!”
“AN ABOMINATION!!!”
“BETRAYAL!!!”
Is that your reaction?
Well, calm down homie…before you have a complete and utter nervous breakdown.
Because let’s be honest with ourselves here.
Doesn’t it make sense to lend more authority to a manuscript that was created CLOSER to the events in question?
I mean it makes sense to me.
However, before we start to pop our blood vessels over the fact that a good majority of scholars worship the Greek manuscripts of the “Old” Testament over the Hebrew, let’s ask ourselves the following question.
Is the Greek Septuagint REALLY the oldest source manuscript we have in our possession?
Because if the answer to that question is negative…
And it turns out we actually manuscripts EVEN OLDER than them Greek documents…
That also happen to be in the Hebrew…
Well homeroos, that’s just gonna change EVERYTHING!!!
So stay tuned.
Because tomorrow I’m gonna share about a mind-blowing discovery that turned whole Biblical world on its proverbial head!
Stay frosty homies.
