Israel’s history as a theocracy can be divided into three specific periods.
The first one was the era of the Prophets.
This included Moses all the way up to Samuel.
The second period was the era of the Kings.
This began with Saul and concluded when Judah was exiled to Babylon.
The third period was what’s known as the era of the High Priests.
This began with Ezra up until Yeshua of Nazareth arrived on the scene.
So when we take a big picture view of Israel’s history, we notice three types of holy administrations:
Prophet, King, and High Priest.
Here’s why that’s important.
These three administrations point to the Messiah.
Why?
Because Yeshua was fully Prophet, King, and High Priest all at the same time.
And when he returns, he will administer divine justice in every one of those roles forever and for all time.
Can I get an amen in the house?
Done.
